A welcome from the Head

Rowan is a dynamic, forward-thinking school, which prepares girls (aged 2-11) for the challenges they will face in life, helping them to develop self-awareness, compassion and respect.  We value all our girls as individuals and attach great importance to the quality of teaching and learning that is at the very heart of our philosophy on education. At the end of the academic year in 2011 we were judged as outstanding by Ofsted inspectors who commented that 'the teaching is excellent, bringing out the best in everyone.'

We want our girls to enjoy an adventurous childhood, challenge themselves and acquire life skills that will enable them to make valuable contributions to society over the course of their life.

There is a wealth of activities available at Rowan and the girls are encouraged to participate fully in them to develop their own individual strengths, personalities and talents, whatever they may be. This is a school where individuals really count.

The positive relationships between staff, pupils and home, as well as an emphasis on pastoral care, make our school, above all, a happy community.  We encourage you to visit the school and see the girls for yourself.  They are truly inspirational.

Rowan is a school that is renowned for achieving success for every girl – a school with an excellent reputation. To really get a feel for our school, please call us to arrange a visit. Alternatively, you would be very welcome to join us at our open morning on Friday 1 June, as the best advertisement is the girls themselves.
